Seagate came to Northern Ireland in 1993 with the establishment of a wafer fabrication facility at Springtown Industrial Estate in Londonderry. Production began in 1994 with 300 employees recruited both locally and from across Europe. Today the facility employs over 1,300 people in the development and manufacture of read-write heads for hard drives. Using some of the most advanced technology in existence, the Springtown facility is the largest factory of its type in the recording head industry, supplying over a million heads every day for Seagate disc drives. Address: 1 Disc Drive, Springtown Industrial Estate, Londonderry, Northern Ireland, BT48 OBF
